Change a user's password?

You can't specify what a user's password will be but you can reset a password for the user. They can then click on the password reset link and set their password as required. The user can also reset their own password by following the forgotten password link on the login pop-up box.

To reset a password for someone else you will need to have the 'Edit Member's details' permission and you'll need to have higher permissions than the user whose password you are resetting. If you meet these requirements you can reset someone's password as follows:

Resetting a user's password and automatically sending an email

Enter the Web Office and locate the user in question, either from the Quick Find at the top of the window, or by going to the members tab and locating the user there. Open their record.

From the blue tasks button select the task 'Reset this person's password'. Then click on the pop up to send a link to the person so they can set their own password.
